Guidelines for Authors

General Guidelines

  • Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere.
  • Submissions must follow the specific formatting and structure requirements detailed below.
  • Authors are responsible for ensuring the accuracy and validity of their content, including citations, tables, and data.
  • Articles should be written in clear, concise, and grammatically correct English.
  • Include a cover letter detailing the significance of your work and how it contributes to the academic field.

Manuscript Preparation

Authors must ensure their manuscript is well-organized and follows the structure outlined below:

Format

  • File Type: Submit manuscripts in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx).
  • Font and Size: Use Times New Roman, 12-point font for the main text.
  • Line Spacing: Double-spaced.
  • Margins: 1-inch (2.54 cm) on all sides.

 

Structure

Manuscripts must be arranged in the following order:

Title Page

  • Title of the manuscript.
  • Full names of all authors, along with their affiliations.
  • The corresponding author’s name, email address, and phone number.
  • A running title (maximum 50 characters).

Abstract

  • Provide a concise summary of the study (150–250 words).
  • Highlight the research objective, methodology, key findings, and significance.
  • Include 4–6 relevant keywords.

Introduction

  • Clearly state the background, objectives, and significance of the study.

Headings, Subheadings, and Super Subheadings

  • After the Introduction, structure the manuscript using clear and appropriately labeled headings, subheadings, and super subheadings.
  • Use a logical numbering system to organize sections:
    • Heading: 1
    • Subheading: 1.1
    • Super Subheading: 1.1.1
  • Ensure each section is clearly distinguishable for better readability and logical flow.

Materials and Methods

  • Provide detailed information about the materials, tools, and methodologies used in the research to ensure reproducibility.

Results/Observations

  • Present the study’s findings clearly and concisely, supported by tables and figures where appropriate.

Discussion

  • Interpret the results in the context of existing research, highlighting their implications, limitations, and potential future directions.

Acknowledgments

  • Acknowledge funding sources, collaborators, or anyone who contributed to the research but does not meet authorship criteria.

References

  • List all cited sources in APA format.
  • Only published or accepted manuscripts should be included. Abstracts submitted to meetings but not yet accepted should not be cited.
  • For examples, refer to the Citation and References section below.

Journal Articles

Tables

  • Submit tables in editable Word format, not as images or screenshots.
  • Provide clear and concise titles for each table.

Figures and Legends

  • Submit high-resolution figures separately in .PNG, .JPG, or .TIFF format (minimum 300 DPI).
  • Provide descriptive legends for each figure in the manuscript.

Submission Process

  • Submit manuscripts via the Crystal Scientific Publishers online submission portal or this email: Epidemiology@cspublishers.com.
  • Include the following documents:
    • Manuscript file (Word format)
    • Cover letter detailing the significance of your work

 

Funding Statement

  • Authors must include a Funding Statement in their manuscript, specifying any financial support received for conducting the research or preparing the manuscript.

Fee Structure

  • Crystal Journal of Public Health & Epidemiology charges a nominal fee to cover processing, peer review, and publication costs.
  • Fees will be communicated upon submission. Discounts or waivers may be available in special cases.
